What's new in Kafcun

Download the current Windows build, and check the release date and SHA-256 checksum of every version we have published.

Current version

Version 1.0.40 ships as two builds. They are the same client, published and checksummed together — pick whichever suits you. Either one keeps your licence and Device ID, and either one replaces any earlier version.

Portable build

A single small file, about 16 MB. Nothing to install and no runtime to download — a good choice on a slow connection.

What changed in 1.0.40

  • Two builds, one version. The Release build is self-contained; the Portable build is a single small file. Both are published and checksummed together.
  • Quieter updates. Kafcun no longer interrupts you with a dialog while it updates. Once the new version is in place, it tells you once, on the next launch.

Only version 1.0.40 is served from this site. The table lists the public releases we have published; versions between 1.0.6 and 1.0.40 were internal builds that were never published here, so they have no public checksum. The Release / Portable build names are used from 1.0.40 onward — earlier releases were published as the self-contained build only.

Verify your download

The checksum is the fingerprint of the exact file we published. If it matches, the file arrived intact and unmodified.

On Windows — no extra tools needed

  1. Open Command Prompt or PowerShell in the folder where you saved the file you downloaded.
  2. Run:
certutil -hashfile KafcunVPN-release-1.0.40.exe SHA256 certutil -hashfile KafcunVPN-portable-1.0.40.exe SHA256
  1. Compare the string it prints with the SHA-256 shown for the build you downloaded, above. Case does not matter.

If the checksum does not match

  • The download was probably interrupted or modified in transit. Delete the file, download it again from the home page, and re-check.
  • Do not run a copy of Kafcun from a mirror, a file host, or a Telegram attachment. The only official sources are dl.kafcun.net, the download links on this site, and the official Telegram channel @kafcun — which links to dl.kafcun.net and never sends the file as an attachment.
  • If it still does not match, tell us in the official channel — do not run the file.

Kafcun is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen and your browser will warn you about the download. That is expected — see the Guide for how to allow it. Scanning the file on VirusTotal before running it is always a good idea.
